Get Started (NEW)

The Crickles Navigator analyses activities that you record on your sports devices (Garmin, Wahoo, Zwift and so forth) and shows the results on screen. Crickles does not access your sports devices directly but connects to intervals.icu, which offers connectivity to all of the major devices and platforms.

The Navigator is available on the menu bar or directly at crickles.org/app.html.

Important note about Strava

Make sure that your activities come directly from your devices into Intervals.icu, and not only via Strava. Activities that are loaded into Intervals.icu only from Strava cannot be processed by apps like Crickles due to restrictions in the Strava API terms of use.

Which kind of user are you?

The setup process depends on whether you’ve used Crickles before. Find your situation below.

A. Recent Crickles users

You have used the Crickles Navigator recently and have an active Intervals.icu account already linked.

Be aware that intervals.icu is likely to make a non-supporter account dormant after 90 days without a visit to the site and will stop uploading your data. If this happens you can successfully log in to the Navigator but may find nothing there!

What to expect:

  1. Go to crickles.org/app.html. You will see a Log in button.

  2. Click Log in. A popup will appear with fields for email address and password.

  3. If this is your first time using the new Navigator, you won’t have a password yet. Enter the same email address you used with the old Navigator and click Continue. Then click Forgot password and follow the steps to set a new password. Once set, log in with your new password.

  4. Once logged in, Crickles should recognise your existing account. Because your Intervals.icu connection and profile are already in place, you should go straight through to the full Navigator with your data ready.

  5. If your data needs updating, a refresh will be triggered automatically. You may see a brief “processing your activity data” message. This typically takes a minute or two.

If something looks wrong: Check that you used the same email address as before. If you used a different email, Crickles will not find your existing account. If you’re stuck, get in touch.

B. Returning Crickles Classic users

You used an older version of Crickles (before the migration from Strava to Intervals.icu) and need to set up a new account. You will need an Intervals.icu account — see the prerequisites below.

Before you start:

  • Create an intervals.icu account if you don’t have one.
  • Link your sports devices/platforms in Intervals.icu (Garmin Connect, Wahoo, Zwift etc.).
  • Make sure you can see your activities on the Intervals.icu website.
  • Stay logged in to Intervals.icu during the steps below.

Step by step:

  1. Go to crickles.org/app.html and click Log in.

  2. In the login popup, click “Don’t have an account? Sign up” at the bottom. Enter your email address and choose a password. We recommend using the same email address as your original Crickles account if possible.

  3. After logging in, you will see a Register screen welcoming you to Crickles. Click Register.

  4. You will then see your Profile page. Fill in:

    • Date of birth — this is required because Crickles uses your age to calculate appropriate cardiac stress bands for peer comparison.
    • Sex — improves analysis accuracy.
    • Heart rhythm history — if relevant to you and you are happy to disclose. This is very useful to Crickles for model improvements.
  5. Click Save Profile.

  6. Click Connect Intervals.icu. This will take you to the Intervals.icu website where you will be asked to authorise Crickles to read your activity data. Click Authorise (or equivalent).

  7. You will be redirected back to the Navigator. Crickles will now fetch and process your activity data. You will see a message like “We are now processing your activity data — this may take a few minutes.”

  8. Wait for processing to complete. This initial load fetches historical data and typically takes 1–5 minutes, sometimes longer if there is a lot of data or if the system is busy. You will see status updates including queue position. You do not need to keep the page open — processing continues in the background.

  9. Once processing finishes, the full Navigator will appear with your activity tabs and charts.

Linking your old data: If you had data in the original Crickles system and would like it linked to your new account, contact us with both your old and new email addresses.

C. Completely new users

You have not used Crickles before.

Before you start:

  • You need an intervals.icu account with recorded activities that were not sourced only from Strava. If you don’t have one, create one first and link your sports devices. Record a few activities so there is data for Crickles to analyse.

You may be asked to verify your email.

  3. After logging in, you will see a Register screen explaining that you need an Intervals.icu account. Click Register.

  4. You will then see your Profile page. Fill in:

    • Date of birth — required. Crickles uses your age to calculate appropriate cardiac stress bands and to place you in the right peer comparison group.
    • Sex — optional but improves analysis accuracy.
    • Heart rhythm history — answer if relevant to you.
  5. Click Save Profile.

  6. Click Connect Intervals.icu. You will be taken to the Intervals.icu website to authorise Crickles. Click Authorise (or equivalent).

  7. You will be redirected back to the Navigator. Crickles will begin fetching and processing your activity data. You will see a status message and queue position.

  8. Wait for processing to complete. The initial load typically takes 1–5 minutes. You do not need to keep the page open.

  9. Once done, the full Navigator will appear. Explore the Dashboard and other tabs to see your activity analysis.

If you have an Intervals.icu account but no recorded activities: You will see a message saying “Connected to Intervals.icu, but no activities found yet.” Record some activities on your sports device and come back later.

The profile and connect steps can be done in either order

You can fill in your profile details and connect to Intervals.icu in whichever order suits you. Crickles will not start processing your data until both steps are complete (date of birth entered and Intervals.icu connected). So if you want to connect Intervals first and fill in your date of birth afterwards, that’s fine.

After setup

Once your data has been processed, you can use the Navigator normally. Your data will be updated automatically whenever you record a new activity (there may be a short delay).

To manually refresh your data at any time, open your profile from the Account menu and click Refresh My Data.

Troubleshooting

I can’t find the Forgot password link: In the login popup, enter your email and click Continue. On the password screen, click Forgot password below the password field. If you are a new user, look for “Don’t have an account? Sign up” at the bottom instead.

I used a different email than my old Crickles account: Your old data will not be found automatically. Contact us with both email addresses and we can link your accounts.

The Navigator says “processing” for a long time: The first load can take up to 10–20 minutes if you have a large activity history or if the system is busy. If it has been more than 30 minutes with no progress, get in touch.

“No activities found” after connecting: Check that your Intervals.icu account has activities visible. Remember that activities imported only from Strava will not have the heart rate data Crickles needs — make sure your devices are connected directly to Intervals.icu.

I see an error after logging in: Try logging out and back in. If the error persists, contact us with a screenshot or the error text.

I authorised Intervals but the Navigator still asks me to connect: This can happen if the browser did not return to the Navigator correctly after authorisation. Go back to crickles.org/app.html and log in — your connection should already be in place.

Need help?

If setup does not complete, please get in touch either directly or through the Contact page. It helps if you can include:

  1. The email address you used to log in
  2. Roughly when you tried to set up so that we can look in the logs to see what happened
  3. Any error messages you saw (a screenshot is ideal).
